MACHINE GUN ARM : DEJA VU?


Released in the United States in June 2008 (2 months before Japan), the Japanese action/horror comedy "The Machine Girl 片腕マシンガール" (right), written and directed by Noboru Iguchi 井口昇 ("Sukeban Boy") and starring Minase Yashiro 八代みなせ, got ripped-off a few months later by a bunch of young American indie DIY filmmakers for their Halloween Super Test Film: "Machine Gun Arm" (left).

The plot is more or less the same as “The Machine Girl”: A Ninja Yakuza gang cuts off the arm of a young girl – stand up comedian & (jew)elry designer Carlen Altman – and kills her best friend (a Tamagochi). So she builds a gatling gun arm attachment to seek revenge. Check out the full short below...
